They’ve announced the Corby WEP490 Bluetooth headsets, to complement the hue of your Corby device. Samsung currently has three Corby phones (well, four, if you count the B3310 Corby Mate too), and it will soon introduce a Corby Bluetooth headset as well.It comes in four dual-tone colors along with a simple black and features sharp edge design, big button and a status LED indicator. Named Samsung WEP490 Corby, the headset comes in various color versions, to match the colorful Corby phones.The WEP490 Corby features a status LED indicator, echo cancellation, noise reduction and automatic volume control.But it’s not only about the looks. WEP490 also has audio enhancing qualities like noise reduction and echo cancellation and automatic volume control. It can provide a talk time of up to 6 hours, or a stand-by time of up to 10 hours.

The quality of the cameras in mobile phones is improving very rapidly and approaching that of low to mid-end digital still camera’s. This trend was especially visible during during this year.Samsung Player Ultra, the latest-born in the range, has the same features as the Ultra cellphones, i.e. advanced finish and functionalities without turning the handset into a smartphone. The Player Ultra mixes the sliding style with the smartphone-style tactile screen. The Samsung Player Ultra is a specific mobile in the range of the Korean manufacturer as it doesn’t put forward the advanced characteristics that a smartphone could have. Even though it is classified in the category of multimedia mobiles thanks to its camera and its functionalities, it is not its favorite playground either. The Player Ultra could nearly be ordinary if it didn’t take up the particularities of the Ultra range: upscale design finish. The Samsung Player Ultra is remarkable thanks to its ultra-thin conception with a metallic façade with brushed finish which gives an impression of superior quality and robustness. Not to mention the tactile screen which uses the AMOLED technology that brings substantial contrast and brightness.
To sum up, the Samsung Player Ultra is very well-positioned: between a standard sliding cellphone and a smartphone. Samsung managed to mix both, especially as browsing in the menus and the tactile interface are up to the cellphone finish. As for the 8-Mpix camera, the resolution is a mere marketing argument, but you’ll appreciate its capacity to record videos in high-def, which gives the cellphone a clear advantage.In brief, the Player Ultra provides the essential functionalities for a phone with a multimedia bonus and most important a flattering quality of finish. Not to be confused with an HTC Touch or an iPhone then.
